Grape export from Nashik district declined by 25% in the Jan-Feb period this year when compared to the corresponding period in 2024. Grape exports usually begin in the first week of Jan and continue until mid-April. Nashik district has exported 66,000 tonnes of grapes between Jan and Feb this year. In comparison, last year, the district had exported 87,000 tonnes during the same period. According to the state agriculture department, the district, so far this year, has exported 66,000 tonnes of grapes, including 45,000 tonnes exported to European nations. The remaining 21,000 tonnes were exported to non-European nations. In the 2023-24 grape season (Dec-April), the district exported around 1.6 lakh tonnes of grapes, including 1.2 lakh tonnes to European countries, and 39,000 tonnes to non-European countries. As per norms, farmers must register their vineyards with the state agriculture department to export their produce.
